New homes found for...
Coccinelle ... and Nigella
In August 2013, we collected a small, old, thin dark brown donkey called Coccinelle. A Libertedesanes supporter, Christina, kindly said she would take her to live with her two other donkeys. A few days later Coccinelle had a donkey foal. Thanks to your support this little old donkey Coccinelle was saved and also the life of her baby.
Leila
Leila, at 23 years old, came to us needing tlc and deserving of a good retirement. She's got that now.
Rosalie
We have managed to pass Rosalie onto a local horse charity (ASHA) who will school her and get her ready to go to a new riding home to start the rest of her active life. Although we miss her terribly it is the best solution for Rosalie as she is young and doesnt want to spend her days in retirement with the rest of our oldies here. We will continue to follow her progress with interest and as we collected her literally from the butchers yard we feel so happy to have saved her life.
Zebulon and Myrte
We have now rehomed Zebulon and Myrte to a lovely home not so far from here. They have a lovely wooded paddock and now individual attention from their owner. Zebulon was about 20 years old, very quiet to handle and still a stallion so we didnt think it worth gelding him. As he now lives only with Myrte, he can stay ungelded except of course that he can't live with any female donkeys !!
Miracle
Miracle the pony, who came to us with Miri and Maggie, was really happy to be separate from the mules and as she loves her food we thought she would be fine on her own. She has now been rehomed as a companion to a horse and is very happy. Jan reports, "When I offered her for rehoming I said I'm sorry but she does suffer from sweetitch. I was sure the lady who was interested would come back and say sorry I don't want a pony with sweetitch, but incredibly she replied 'oh thats alright my horse has sweetitch too and I keep it under control', which was music to my ears."
Vanille and Beau
We rehomed Vanille and Beau, a beautiful young pair of donkeys, mother and her son. We had to have him gelded at an early age as he kept mounting his mother, poor Vanille ! They were our first donkeys to leave here and live happily in the Dordorgne with some ponies.
