We are holding two Open Days next Monday and Tuesday 3rd and 4th october. If you'd like to come along and meet our very big donkey family we can offer you an interesting visit. if you can't make these days but would like to visit please email and let us know when you would like to come
Twenty-one of the 24 donkeys/mules/ponies who live here with us have either been collected just before being slaughtered from the butchers yard or they have been in homes where they have been neglected, their owners allowing their hooves to grow long and therefore leaving them in great pain, or they have been left completely wild and unhandled out in a field day and night with no shelter from the rain and cold or sun and in every case, with no extra feeding regardless of their long years. You can come just to look and have tea/coffee/icecreams with us or enjoy a quiche lunch for only two euros. Also we have toys, books, clothes and bric a brac items for resale. Everything here is for sale at a very reasonable price to help us with our enormous costs for hay and straw with the continuation of our long hot days with no rain to let our grass regrow!!

Amanda and John held a Fin de Saison Repas at Belvèze on September 10th. We started with drinks around the pool to get to know everyone. Luckily there was a bar built in next to the pool which made it the perfect setting. Then we enjoyed roasted lamb on the spit and tasty vegetable dishes in abundance followed by wonderful deserts. Some 35 people came along to their beautiful house and it was a wonderful balmy evening sitting on their terrace with views down the valley to Belvèze.
Our thanks and appreciation go to Shelagh and Colin and Amanda and John and all friends for their cooking, hard work and donations of raffle prizes which enabled them to raise this money for our donkeys. For our fundraising activities recently Shelagh and Colin held a Hunger Lunch at their lovely home in Montaigu de Quercy. They had stalls for a ‘bring and buy’ with books and clothes. It was a beautiful sunny day, we all enjoyed our hearty home made soup, cheese, fruit and wine and that together with a little sing song made it a very happy afternoon.
