We are proposing our next fund raising lunch on Sunday 8th April, so please book to come along after 12 ish ready to eat around 1 o'clock here at Lavolvene, 82150 Belveze. 0563943847.
Geoff and Martine have kindly offered to cook a chicken korma curry, (there will be some extra spice served separately for those of you who like it hot!) This curry was delicious when they cooked it for us last time. We offer you a tasty menu to include your aperitive, a starter and desert, tea and coffee as usual and as much as you can eat and drink. Lorraine will be cooking a vegetarian cottage pie which she says is delicious too. All this for 17 euros. All these proceeds go towards the costs of keeping the donkeys, mules and ponies here which include their vets bills, the farrier, loads of hay, straw and bedding and their worming treatments too. Could I also ask if you have any unwanted Christmas presents to please bring them along to make our raffle a great success. If you have family visiting over Easter and want to show them the donkeys then please send an e mail for an appointment and I'd be delighted to welcome you here. To those supporters who offered to cook but for a later date in the month, don't worry I'll be asking for cooks again ! Thank you and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again. Jan xx

Tony, Resa and Dan have kindly offered to cook a fish and chip lunch for you all here at
Lavolvene, 82150 Belveze. Last years meal was a great success. If its your first visit you'll need some directions as the Sat Nav takes you into the woods and not to the entrance to our house ! Please come along on Friday 19th January, 2018 at 1 oclock. We'll also serve you with a tasty salad and there will be several different flavours of icecream to choose from, followed by tea and coffee, wine included. There is a vegetarian option if you prefer. So for as much as you can eat and drink were asking 17 euros with all the proceeds going to our donkeys here. Please come along to support our first lunch of the year and get us off to a good start. Please make sure I reply to your e mail as your reply could get lost in the thread ! You'll be pleased to hear that our donkeys numbers have reduced to 23 now as just before Christmas we rehomed Clio and Finny to a lovely knowledgeable home. They needed more handling as Clio particularly was difficult with the farrier and with so many donkeys its always best they can go out to individual homes where their new owners can spend hours teaching them to pick up their hooves properly ..... also my wrists are getting weaker !! Thank you so much to Tony, Resa and Dan and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you all. Bonne Sante ! Jan xx It's with a heavy heart I have to report that little Bambi didn't make it. The vet yesterday thought she would be ok as long as she took her feeds that's why I posted her pictures. I felt so confident. Different vet came out today as she went off her feeds at lunchtime and she said she was just so premature she didn't stand much chance. She never actually stood up alone but we hoped we could strengthen her legs with helping her to walk.
So sorry Bambi, we tried for you. RIP, little girl xxxxxx Our days are pretty busy here but yesterday and today onwards will be exceptional ! 4 months ago I helped a Spanish charity by taking in their 3 donkeys. They all arrived pretty skinny from their last foster home, so to our surprise yesterday a tiny foal was born. We've been feeding her hourly during the day, less often last night, as she still can't get up alone. We desperately hope she'll survive. I'm milking her mother and feeding her with a teat which fits well onto ...
